GERNATION-ZERO: who are you, and what do you do? ADAM BERANEK: my name is adam beranek. i am president of silent devil and co-writer of dracula vs king arthur. GENERATION-ZERO: what is it about comics that appeals to you the most? ADAM BERANEK: i love the comics medium. as a writer, it is always neat to see a story visualized on paper. i grew up with g.i. joe, transformers, groo, conan, and iron man. it is one of the neater fields to work in, and everyone involved seems to love what they are doing, so that is a plus. GENERATION-ZERO: how is silent devil different than other comic publishers? ADAM BERANEK: we try not to compare ourselves to other publishers. we are just concerned with putting out some great stories with great artwork and hoping fans take notice. GENATION-ZERO: as a publisher, what is your biggest qualm with the comics industry? ADAM BERANEK: i really have no qualms with the industry. it seems independent publishers are on the rise, and fans and retailers are starting to recognize that there are some great books out there in indie land. GENERATION-ZERO: the credits for dracula vs king arthur list both you and your brother as the writers. how does writing a comic script with somebody else work? ADAM BERANEK: i originally came up with the idea three to four years ago. i had written a really rough draft with about 90% of the story. i then realized that it needed some help. i can write dialogue, but i needed help with the pacing and settings and the overall flow. chris took my plot and original script from there, and we get a finished script off of that. we bounce off ideas, and i have certain demands that i feel have to be included in the final script. that works well for us. we are both pretty understanding in the whole creative process. GENERATION-ZERO: would you consider you and christian closer than brothers usually are? ADAM BERANEK: i would say yes. there are a few things i wish i didn't know, but overall he is a great brother. we get along very well. we both make sure to pick each other up in the bad times and stay level headed in the great times.
